Charlie was born in Statesboro, Georgia, where he currently resides with his wife Susan. They have two children, two grand sons and a grand daughter on the way.
Charlie received his BS in Biology from Georgia Southern University and an AAS in applied Mechanics (Gunsmithing) from Trinidad State College in Trinidad, Colorado.
After a few years as a professional gunsmith working for Pachmayrs in Los Angeles and for himself he joined the family business as Vice President of Revenue Accounting and Secretary of the Statesboro Telephone Company.
At an early age Charlie and his twin brother Harry collected and traded knives. He bought his first custom knife as a high school student and continues to collect knives. After retiring from the Statesboro Telephone Company, Charlie and Harry joined together to form their custom knife business, Twin Blades. Making knives that are conservative in design and comfortable to use is one of the things Charlie enjoys the most. Charlie also makes some one of a kind custom knives with handles carved from Sambar stag, integral knives and custom folders.
Charlie is a Charter member and past President of the Georgia Custom Knifemakers Guild. He joined The Knifemakers Guild in 2005 and received voting status in 2007
