The Knifemakers’ Guild was established in 1970. The founding members passed down their knowledge, dedication, passion, and ethics to all the later joining members. Today, the values they established are as felt and followed as ever and every knife maker can only dream to join such fine company. Contemporary knives created by Guild members surpass the mere qualification of a knife as object; they are steel sculptures, art pieces, flawless in their making, which still carry the potential to be used as tools should a collector, hunter, or chef wish it.

The purposes of the Guild were, and continue to be: to promote custom knives and knifemakers, to assist the knifemaker technically, to encourage ethical and professional business conduct, and to sponsor an annual business meeting and knife show.
