Welcome to The Knifemakers’ Guild!
The Knifemakers’ Guild, founded in 1970, remains dedicated to advancing the art and craft of custom knifemaking. Its mission continues to center on promoting handmade knives and the makers behind them, providing technical support and education, fostering ethical and professional business practices, and hosting an annual meeting and knife show for its membership.
Each year, Guild members gather to conduct official business, elect officers, and showcase their work. The annual show attracts hundreds of collectors, sportsmen, and cutlery enthusiasts from around the world, offering them the opportunity to view and purchase fine custom knives and to meet the artists and craftsmen who create them.
A Mark That Defines
For more than half a century, the Knifemakers’ Guild has stood as a steward of legacy and tradition in the art of knifemaking. Its members carry forward the values that shaped the craft: respect for the makers who came before, dedication to the techniques refined over generations, and a shared belief that a handmade knife is more than a tool, it is an expression of heritage.
Within the Guild, form, fit, and finish are not merely standards; they are the language of excellence, the measure by which makers honor the past and elevate the future. The Guild remains open to all who feel called to this journey. Whether a seasoned craftsman or an emerging maker taking their first steps, every individual who seeks mastery is welcomed into a community committed to growth, mentorship, and integrity. The pursuit of perfection is not a solitary path but a shared endeavor, and the Guild provides the fellowship, guidance, and inspiration needed to walk it well. Here, anyone willing to learn, refine, and uphold the craft’s highest ideals can find a home.
